There Goes My Hero
On January 27th, favorite for fans of both the U.S. National Team and New England Revolution, Joe-Max Moore decided to hang up his cleats. The third all time leading scorer in the history of the U.S. National Team and the all-time scorer in the history of the Revolution made the decision to retire after undergoing reconstructive surgery on his knee. The 33 year old had earned the reputation at both the national and club level as a fierce competitor, who would never give anything less than his all. This is what made him a fan favorite in New England and the rest of the U.S. and this was why he is the favorite player for so many American soccer fans, including myself.

Revolution Player Profile: Jay Heaps
Foxboro, MA. - New England Revolution defender and Massachusetts native Jay Heaps has been a mainstay in the Revolution's back line since coming over in a trade midway through the 2001 season. The Longmeadow, Massachusetts native has proved a versatile player for the Revs, seeing time at right back, center defense and in the midfield.

Player Profile: Pat Noonan and Revolution team notes
FOXBORO, MA. – Forward Pat Noonan’s play with the Revolution in 2004 not only earned him the Budweiser Scoring Champion award, but also earned him training time with Chelsea F.C. in England, arguably the best team in the world at the moment. In just his second season as a pro, Noonan led the league in scoring with 11 goals and 8 assists for 30 points, after a rookie season in which he scored 10 goals to go with 7 assists for 27 points and finished second in Rookie of the Year voting. Noonan became the only player in Revolution history to score two hat tricks as a Rev, getting 3 goals in a late come from behind victory against Kansas City on June 2, 2004 and 3 goals in the final game of the regular season in 2003 in a 5-2 victory against the Metrostars. Noonan also earned a spot on the East All-Star team this year.

Revs lose two veterans to Real Salt Lake in the Expansion Draft
Foxboro, MA. – The New England Revolution lost starters Brian Kamler and Rusty Pierce in the expansion draft, both to Real Salt Lake. 32 year-old Kamler had been the Revolution’s starting left midfielder since midway through the 2002 season and 25-year old Rusty Pierce has been a starter, when healthy, in the Revs defense since 2000. The team that lost 156 man games to injury last year, the most in league history, and was unable to field a full bench for much of the season now must acquire even more depth during the offseason if they want to be challengers for the cup. The Revs also left defenders Joe Franchino, Steve Howey and Carlos Llamosa as well as forward Joe-Max Moore and goalie Adin Brown unprotected, but none were selected and they will remain with the Revs.
